Job Responsibilities

  1. Communicate effectively to technical project teams and management
  2. Analyze dependencies and requirements so complex work can be done in a timely manner
  3. Lead the selection, design, and implementation of high-quality solutions
  4. Lead feature planning and backlog refinement
  5. Establish quality goals and ensure they are met

Pre-qualifications

  1. Ability to think on your feet and solve complex problems
  2. Four-year degree (BS/MS) in computer science, engineering, or a related field
  3. Minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering employment required
  4. Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  5. Must be available for on-site support in Troy, MI as needed

Qualifications

Must have significant, specific experience in at least one of the following areas:

  1. Modern vehicle architecture
    1. Service-oriented architecture (SOA) design and/or implementation
    2. Hardware abstraction
    3. Zone controller and domain controller integration
    4. AUTOSAR
  2. High-performance computing
    1. Embedded hypervisor architecture
    2. Real-time operating systems (RTOS)
    3. Functional safety
  3. Vehicle networking
    1. CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, etc.
    2. Deep understanding of (Open Systems Interconnection) OSI model

Must have experience designing and building production-quality automotive software

  1. Software testing (unit, integration, acceptance, performance, etc.)
  2. Cybersecurity

Must have ability to transform ambiguous directions into clarity and value

  1. Experience collaborating with stakeholders to define and refine requirements (functional and non-functional)
  2. Iterative agile development process
  3. Demonstrated ability to steer stakeholders toward viable solutions

Must be fearless about new technologies and techniques

  1. Experience with rapid prototyping
  2. Implemented software on a variety of operating systems or hardware platforms Must be familiar with software tools Atlassian Jira (ticket management) and Confluence (wiki) Bonus skills Make sure to tell us if you have these bonus skills
  3. IBM Jazz for lifecycle management
  4. IBM Rhapsody for software architecture definition and diagrams
  5. Testing frameworks
  6. Experience working in a lean, startup environment
  7. Automotive experience, including automotive certifications (e.g., ISO, ASPICE)
  8. Experience working with a development team distributed across time zones
