Automotive Connectivity Product Manager (or Sr Product Manager BOE)

Tome Software has an immediate opening on its development team for a Product Manager (or a Sr Product Manager based on experience) with expertise in Automotive Connectivity and/or Vulnerable Road Users (VRU) Safety. Our ideal candidate will possess a unique mix of project and product management experience. The goal is to ensure that Tome and its clients succeed in solving technical problems and creating competitive products by clearly understanding, documenting, and communicating technical requirements, specs, goals, and deliverables working with all stakeholders. This position works directly with Tome’s and its Clients’ engineering and product teams to validate product roadmaps and manage end-to-end project lifecycles.

This position is based in our downtown Royal Oak, MI office. We are open to considering candidates working from home part-time.

Responsibilities

  1. Work with all internal (Tome’s) and external (clients’ and 3rd parties’) stakeholders to ensure product specifications and requirements are clearly defined and agreed to
  2. Own the product VRU Safety roadmap with buy-in from the client, industry partners, and internal teams
  3. Represent Tome within the Bicycle to Vehicle (B2V) global standard creation organizations (SAE ITC), see tomesoftware.com/B2V
  4. Lead VRU safety spec writing and publishing
  5. Contribute to engineering sprint planning
  6. Execute the Tome product development process:
    • Create and manage timelines, milestones, and resources using project management software (Basecamp, MS Project, Merlin, etc.)
    • Define and track all project tasks and product deliverables
    • Track bugs and issues with Jira
  7. Document specifications (Hardware, software, user experience – UX)
  8. Coordinate alpha and beta testing programs
  9. Support trade shows and other industry events

Pre-qualifications

  1. Minimum four-year engineering degree (BS/MS) in engineering
  2. More than 3 years of professional software product management experience, preferably in automotive safety/ADAS/VRUs
  3. Ability to travel (domestic and international) 5%-10% for customer meetings and trade shows
  4. Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Additional Qualifications

  1. Deep knowledge of software development and delivery methods
  2. Must love technology and possess a “whatever it takes” work attitude
  3. Experience maintaining projects with Basecamp, Jira, Confluence, or equivalent tools
  4. Proven ability to think on your feet and solve complex problems
  5. Must love creating incredible experiences for users, whether they are developers or consumers
